What exactly are hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids are painful, irritating, uncomfortable and they can be disruptive to your everyday life. They're actually just pockets of tissue in the lower rectum that have loosened, or pushed into the anal canal. When this happens you can experience swelling, itching, pain and bleeding.
For many people, at home remedies including creams, supplements and water can help provide temporary relief, but often times patients prefer to get to the underlying cause of their discomfort.
What is this new procedure?
We understand that no one wants to deal with the pain and downtime of surgery. That's why we now offer a new in-office procedure that can help relieve the discomfort from hemorrhoids. There's no preparation, no fasting, no sedation, no downtime and no pain.
How does it work?
Gentle suction is used to place a small rubber band at the base of the hemorrhoid in an area where there aren't any nerve endings. This only takes about 60 seconds and can be done in our office. After a few days, the hemorrhoid will begin to shrink and fall off—you probably won't even notice when it does!
